The main feature of the property is the captivating central courtyard with a large pool and hot tub, surrounded by comfortable lounging options.
The enclosed 1.5 acre garden, adjacent to woodlands, is a paradise for kids and pets with ample space for outdoor fun. Relax in tranquil nooks with outdoor seating by the BBQ or outside the pub. There is a games room with a pool table and darts as well as an outdoor tennis table and badminton net. Please bring your own rackets and balls.

Our beautiful family-friendly cottage has an open plan kitchen and dining area in a large converted barn space that is over 300 years old. Its modern kitchen is well equipped with beautiful granite counter tops and appliances, ideal for a get-together meal. The secondary kitchen provides all the additional storage and preparation space you will need. A cosy snug overlooks the large dining table from above and a separate living room features an eye catching fire place, large sofa’s, and a smart TV.
The property offers a variety of rooms, ranging from spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms to comfortable options featuring Jack-and-Jill shower rooms, as well as cosy bunk-bed accommodations. Some rooms offer extra privacy being accessible only from the garden. At the end of the garden, the annexe ‘Little Thatch’ offers even more privacy due to it being detached from the cottage, making it ideal for family members seeking a more secluded space.

In the gardens you will find our fully licensed pub for private use of our guests. This is complete with a bar, stools, small dance floor and a smart TV. It is ideal for a Match of the Day or a fun pub quiz night!
We also now offer a self-serve draught Madri system for guests to enjoy. Help yourself to a freshly poured pint and simply note down what you’ve had for payment before departure.
Opposite is a garden chalet and sun terrace which has a professional 7 foot slate-bed pool table, darts and outdoor table tennis.
The pool is located in an enclosed central court yard. Please note, the pool is typically open from May through September. Its temperature is regulated by a mix of a solar panels and an air-source heat pump, which means that the warmth of the water can fluctuate with weather conditions. For your safety, the pool is equipped with a safety cover. This cover not only enhances safety but also contributes to keeping the pool clean and maintains the water temperature.
The hot tub is available year-round for your enjoyment.
We provide one set of towels per guest. If you plan to use the pool or hot tub, we recommend bringing extra towels.
For fun family activities, Moors Valley Country Park and Avon Heath Country Park are just 10 minutes away. Being on the Dorset-Hampshire border, and on the edge New Forest a 10 minute drive away, there are plentiful charming pubs and restaurants in all directions. The nearby town of Burley offers endless opportunities for walking, cycling, and exploring, with its scenic landscapes and free-roaming wild ponies. A short 20-minute car ride will take you to the award-winning Blue Flag beaches of Bournemouth and Sandbanks, which are certainly worth a visit. Additionally, for those passionate about water sports, seize the opportunity to paddle board along the idyllic River Avon in Christchurch.
